Patrice O’Driscoll
About Candidate
I am a Pharmacist with over sixteen year’s professional experience. In 2006 I obtained a 2:1 Master of pharmacy degree from the University of Sunderland and subsequently entered onto the register of the General Pharmaceutical council and Royal Pharmaceutical society in 2007.Since then I have worked in community pharmacy in both England and Scotland and in primary and secondary care in Scotland. Throughout this time, I have gained a wealth of knowledge and skills which, I believe, have allowed me to become an efficient and competent Pharmacist with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
My previous roles required me to have a high degree of organisation, effective time management and flexibility. I have the ability to work in a variety of settings and can quickly adapt to new surroundings. I have experience of working independently and as part of a wider multidisciplinary team. I enjoy learning from my experiences at work and fellow colleagues and continually update my current knowledge through CPD. I have an up-to-date CPD portfolio and received 100% when previously assessed by the GPHC. I also enjoy sharing my knowledge with work colleagues and regularly attend Pharmacy training events.
In order to diversify professionally and enhance my clinical pharmacy knowledge, I enrolled in the Robert Gordon School of pharmacy, Aberdeen post-grad diploma in clinical pharmacy in 2015.This was a challenging and informative undertaking which I have now successfully completed whilst continuing to work in my role as a community pharmacist. From my primary degree, post-grad studies and work on the frontline as a community pharmacist I have gained a thorough knowledge of the drug development and evaluation process, clinical pharmacy and the role of other stakeholders such as the pharmaceutical industry, clinicians working within the NHS and patient groups.
I have a keen interest in health policy and Pharmacoeconomics and completed an accredited CPD module in international heath technology assessment (HTA) through the University of Hull in 2017. I am extremely committed to lifelong learning.
I am currently working as a support community Pharmacist in the Tipperary area.
